Special values of zeta-functions

Following the celebrated Riemann zeta-function one can construct analytic
functions that carry a rich source of information of underlying objects in
number theory.  In this talk, we shall look into the connection between
the special values of such analytic functions and arithmetical invariants
of various objects. The talk shall assume only an introductory course in
algebra.
