2004 - 2005

Scientific Computation, Numerical Analysis And Applications
January - July, 2005
(with special reference to Numerical Simulation, Control, Noise Modelling, and Optimization of Systems Governed by Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations and Differential-Algebraic Equations)

The IISc Mathematics Initiative (IMI), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore will be organizing a workshop from January 24 - February 04, 2005. The main theme of the workshop will be "Scientific Computation, Numerical Analysis and Applications (with special reference to numerical Simulation, Control, Noise Modeling and Optimization of systems governed by Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations and Differential - Algebraic Equations)".

Approximately 40 lectures will be given in this workshop. Some lectures will cover the basic necessary material to understand the main lectures on scientific computation and on basic theory and computation of hyperbolic equations. We also propose to provide references and some lectures notes of all necessary material to prepare the participants of the theme program, so that they can actively participate in the second workshop and the conference.

A maximum of 50 applicants from other Institutions will be selected for participation in the workshop.

Out of this, a maximum of 10 seats will be reserved for scientists from organisations, which finance the theme programme.

Students and faculty from IISc who desire to participate in the theme programme will need to register.

Active Participants of the first workshop may be given an opportunity to participate in the second workshop and the conference.

Note: This web page will be modified continuously with updated information on paper submission and status, session themes, registration status and other details. So, please keep checking.
