Computational and theoretical models of brain and behaviour

Research Group

Sridharan Devarajan and Venkatesh Babu

Center for Neuroscience, IISc and Computational and Data Sciences, IISc

This project seeks to develop biologically plausible neural models, both computational (including RNNs and CNNs) and theoretical, to simulate and analyze large scale brain data (fMRI/EEG). A key challenge is to be able to identify cognitive states, and predict behaviour based on recordings of brain activity. For example, where is a subject is paying attention in a complex visual scene? Can we predict a subject's eye movements when many targets are presented to them? The goal is to be able to build mathematical links between brain and behaviour.
